It’s been over two weeks now since I got that nasty bug. My hearing in my right ear is starting to get better. I was back to training on Saturday at Twist Conditioning and in the boxing gym this evening.
It’s amazing how quickly you get out of shape. My body was so sore from training on Saturday. But, it was nothing that a hot bath with Epsom salts and an hour of good stretching couldn’t fix!
I guess I will have to wait and see how my body is doing tomorrow…
Now as much as I would love to jump into training 6 days a week again and sometimes two times a day on multiple days, I’m going to slowly progress into it this time.
Too often athletes just jump into their old training routines, which drags on their recovery time whether it was from a cold or injury. I have made that mistake too many times to do it again.
It is totally understandable though. For any athlete or active person, fitness and training is a part of who you are, it is routine and when something sets you back you’re always itching to get back out there.
Do yourself a favor though and slowly ease back into it. It is definitely worth it in the long run!
